30 October 2026 1 Day (9:00am - 4:00pm) Short Course In person

Overview

*FULLY FUNDED* As connected technologies become more common across agriculture and food production, understanding how to protect digital systems has never been more important. This new 1 day course provides a comprehensive theoretical and practical introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT). This course is being run as a pilot in partnership with the Digital Dairy Chain project to create a day aimed at the dairy supply chain. Dairy production in South-West Scotland and Cumbria is a significant economic activity in the region with many small businesses making up the local supply chain. There is a significant opportunity for service providers, independent dairies and farmers to learn how new and pertinent information can be collected from existing systems. The information can be translated into important operational insights from making decisions about equipment health, time or money saves, or evidencing compliance. Digital enablement of legacy systems or day to day activities need not be expensive, but in dairy, how can you find out what’s possible and how do you source the expertise?
