Overview

This course is a blended e-learning programme delivered as a self-taught, one-day course through videos and a workbook, accessed via a candidate portal, allowing you to study remotely from home or work at your own pace. Materials take roughly 8 - 12 hours minimum to complete, and you have from your booking date until your scheduled assessment date to finish them, with workbooks posted out to you directly. Assessments are held face-to-face in Settle, North Yorkshire, on a separate date from training, and consist of two parts on the same day: a 1-hour multiple-choice computer exam, which must be passed before continuing, and a 1-hour practical assessment, conducted one-to-one by an independent City & Guilds assessor. Course content covers legal responsibilities, safe storage, handling, mixing and calibrating of dip, ectoparasite treatments, safe disposal of chemical waste, best practice, emergency procedures, and health monitoring and record-keeping. Candidates must bring their own PPE, with a full list provided in advance. On successful completion, you'll gain a City & Guilds accredited Certificate of Competence in the safe use of sheep dip.
