Young Ranger Sessions take place once a month on a Sunday.

Overview

Our Young Rangers programme offers a unique opportunity for young people aged 14 to 18 years to get involved in practical conservation volunteering. Young Rangers activities are led by experienced Rangers from both the LDNPA and partner organisations.

Young Ranger Leaders

Our Young Ranger Leaders are dedicated and knowledgeable adult volunteer leaders who support these sessions. Together with the Young Rangers, they take part in a range of activities, from tree planting to footpath maintenance, at sites across the Lake District National Park.

At a glance

  • Leading and inspiring the young people throughout their volunteering experience.
  • Supervising and supporting the young people, taking responsibility for the group’s health and safety.
  • Working alongside DNPA and partner organisation staff to plan and facilitate young ranger sessions.
  • Communicating with the Volunteer Outreach Coordinator to plan and feedback on sessions.
  • Ensuring Young Ranger sessions are inclusive and supportive for the participants.
