Overview

Looking for a traineeship to develop your own skills and knowledge to enable you to assist with the planning, preparation and delivery of community engagement and education projects across the North Pennines? This opportunity could be for you and is for a period of 12 months. You will work on the Land of Lead and Silver project to help deliver a varied and inspiring education, engagement and community event programme to hundreds of people, including young people, in and around the North Pennines. You will also be enabled and encouraged to influence current and future opportunities to increase this impact, whilst developing your own knowledge and gaining a wide range of skills and experience in engagement delivery and conservation

Community Engagement Trainee

All trainees will receive a range of development opportunities including an induction programme, on-the-job experience and formal training courses. Each trainee has a training budget which they can choose how best to spend to meet their needs and development interests.

At a glance

  • You will need 4 GCSEs at A*–C, or 4–9, or equivalent.
  • You will have experience of working or volunteering with members of the public and of working independently and managing own time.
  • You should have a basic understanding of engaging communities in relevant areas such as nature conservation, outdoor activities, cultural heritage and arts.
  • This role is ideally suited to someone with their own vehicle to enable them to move around the North Pennines area as public transport is not an option due to it not being joined up across the three counties.
