Ellie is the Cumbria Connect Nature Friendly Farming Apprentice and is studying for the Level 4 Countryside Ranger qualification. She did not come from a farming background and so has used volunteering opportunities, with the RSPB, to build her CV and skills set.
Through her apprenticeship with the RSPB and secondments to The Ernest Cook Trust and Lowther, Ellie has gained skills and training in a variety of agricultural practices as well as environmental and sustainable farming practices. These skills will enable her to progress her career and to bring new methods and techniques to future employment.
