Take part in monthly coastal monitoring to gather data and help inform marine conservation decisions. Do you live in Barrow and enjoy being by the sea? Would you like to meet new people, learn about rockpool species, and help marine conservation? Then come to marine surveys to help with our ‘Shoresearch’ programme! ‘Shoresearches’ are where the species on an area of beach are surveyed and recorded, and Earnse Bay is home to all sorts of creatures including hermit crabs, starfish, brittle stars and blennies. By helping monitor the species found, we can map changes in populations and make informed conservation decisions.
No prior knowledge is required and all training will be provided. However, please note that this role will involve walking over slippery and uneven ground.
