The Safe Working Near Water course is designed for people working near water who will be issued with lifejackets but will not be expected to intentionally enter the water, eg EA, SEPA, NRW personnel, construction industry workers, road and bridge maintenance workers.

This course provides the knowledge and techniques for employees who need to work in or near water. It covers appropriate PPE and simple rescue techniques to allow safe rescue from water, both basic and moving, and gives simple rescue techniques that can be used to rescue co-workers.

Primarily intended for those working in and around floods, our First Responder course is very popular with industrial clients as it so widely known and accepted by key stakeholders. Defra Mod 2 is often stated as the minimum requirement for operatives working around the water in tender documents.
