Hedgerows are amazing. They help provide healthy soils, hold carbon and slowing down water flow, and rich wildlife habitats. They're also beautiful, often hundreds of years old and provide field boundaries and shelter for farm animals. But, since the 1950s, 118,000 miles of hedgerows have been lost, so we all need to replant many more miles!
This is your chance to make a big difference and help create a lasting legacy in the Lake District landscape that you can watch develop in the years to come. Following our 2 fantastic hedgeplanting days in October, we're back again in March.
This volunteer event is open to anyone aged 16 or over. Children are also welcome as long as they have adult supervision. We may also be able to accommodate larger groups of younger people (such as school parties) but please email kay-andrews@fld.org.uk if you'd like to enquire about bringing a large group to this event.
