Transform your hillwalking experience with Ghyll Head's Winter Skills Course for Novices! Based in the breathtaking Lake District, this course is designed for those with summer hillwalking experience who want to confidently explore the mountains in winter conditions. Learn essential winter skills, including: Planning a winter walking day: Understand the unique challenges of winter conditions and how to prepare for a safe and enjoyable day out. Using ice axe and crampons: Master the techniques for safe travel on snow and ice, including ascending and descending slopes. Making sound judgements: Learn how to assess weather conditions, snowpack stability, and avalanche risk to make informed decisions in the mountains.
