This course is for those who are interested in tourism and might wish to work in the industry in the future. During the course students study a variety of work-related themes and gain a broad knowledge and understanding of the tourism industry, its size, development and importance to a country’s economy. This includes why customers are the most important part of the industry, and the standards of service they should expect as well as the many different forms of tourism including eco-tourism, adventure tourism and cultural tourism.
BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Travel & Tourism may be studied as part of a Mixed Level2/Level 3 programme of 3 subjects, or a full level 2 programme of 4 subjects.Applicants should have achieved mainly 4s and 3s at GCSE however, applications will be considered on an individual basis.Students must have a desire to learn, a commitment to the course and a willingness to study GCSE English and Maths if required.
